Five women have come forward and accused Valerian director Luc Besson of sexual assault.

According to a new report from French investigative magazine Mediapart, the allegations were made by two former students at Bessons film school, two former assistants at EuropaCorp and a former model who wanted to become an actress, Karine Isambert.

The latter woman was the only one to waive her anonymity and speak on the record; the other four women spoke on condition of anonymity, Variety reports.

In the Mediapart report posted online on Wednesday, one former student at the film school, LEcole de la Cite, alleged that she was the recipient of unwanted kisses and hugs from the director in 2015 whilst she was an intern, and later an assistant of his.

Another woman who says she was hired by Besson as an assistant at his organisation EuroCorp in the 2000s, says she was coerced into a sexual relationship with him at a time when she was financially vulnerable.

Isambert, who was once a model, claims that she met Besson during an audition in 1995, and told Mediapart he sexually harassed her during the meeting and grabbed her against her will.

Back in May an unnamed woman accused the Lucy director of raping her, a claim he vehemently denied at the time.

His lawyer Thierry Marembert denied the allegations to AFP, telling the publication: Luc Besson categorically denies these fantasist accusations.

[The complainant] is someone he knows, towards whom he has never behaved inappropriately.

He also told The Hollywood Reporter that Mr. Besson fell from his chair when he learned of these accusations, which he flatly denies.
