Can anyone believe its been 25 years since *that* Boyzone appearance on The Late Late show?

Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch appeared on the RTE chat show back in 1993 – before theyd even brought out any material – and treated fans to, well, a performance no one could quite forget.

Armed with bare chests, a spot of catchy 90s rave music and some seriously questionable dance moves (and thrusting, we hadnt forgotten the thrusting), the boyband truly made a name for themselves in more ways than one.

As it happens, the boys went on to have phenomenal success – selling over 25 million records and having a string of number one albums to their name – and, 25 years on, are embarking on one, final farewell tour for fans.

Which means, among other things, theyre returning to the stage where it all started.

Can we get a hell yeah?

Keith, Mikey, Ronan and Shane will join Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show this Friday to discuss why its time to say goodbye in the year of their 25th anniversary.

But will they recreate that infamous dance off?

We can only hope.

Either way, the boys are no doubt hopeful theyll get a better reception than their inaugural appearance on the show, which saw then-host Gay Byrne taking the mick out of their talents – but seemingly predicting their success nonetheless.

You dont play, you dont sing and you cant write music, the host said of their TV debut.

Theres no talent whatsoever… Theyll go far.

Taking their supposed lack of talent in their stride, Ronan replied: Were not going to sing, were going do a bit of dancing before the fivesome broke into what can only be described as seriously freestyle dance.

… And, well, you know the rest.

The Late Late Show airs on RTÉ One, Friday, 23 November at 9.35pm.
