Jake Paul documentary film maker Shane Dawson revealed that he received a hard time – from both haters and fans – about the documentary.
In a tell all interview with The Hollywood Fix he said he was threatened and blackmailed over his eight-part YouTube series.
Dawson admits that in the course of filming he was contacted by loads of people who wanted to talk about their relationship, be it good or bad, with the controversial YouTube figure.
People kept being like “I want to be interviewed” and “I have a story to tell” and I didnt want to lose anything, he told the interviewer from his kitchen.
He went on to say that he tried to include as many voices and opinions and accounts as he could, and the resulting footage ended up being over 23 hours long.
For some viewers, it wasnt enough.
Now Im dealing with even more drama…while Im editing, everyone and their fucking mum is texting me and voicemailing me and calling me and saying “Dont make him look good!” and “Dont make him look bad!”
Things came to a head, he says, during a conversation with Keem Star, who hosts the YouTube show Drama Alert and who has interviewed Jake Paul before.
I was talking to Keem about blackmail. I was like “Listen dude, as Im filming this, Im having everybody from all sides threaten things, like Oh, if you say this about Jake, Im going to expose this, or Im going to say this about Jake or Im going to tweet this and ruin your series.” I had a lot of that going on.
Yikes! That sounds stressful.
Dawson admits that he kept the drama out of the documentary because, luckily, it was received well.
The documentary has been viewed millions of times as it cracked the life of Jake and his pals wide open.
Dawson is currently taking a break from YouTube, but hes hinted that hed be interested in looking into Bhad Bhabie, Liza Koshy and Logan Paul, though hes pretty shook of the latter.
