Kim Kardashian is trying to send an extremely defiant message to the haters – she will post naked when and how she sees fit.
And more power to her.
In a week in which weve already seen the entrepreneur get her kit off to sell her latest line of eyeshadows, shes one-upped the whole shebang with a near-naked magazine shoot.
Posting topless for erotica magazine Richardsons Issue A9 20th anniversary yarn, the 37-year-olds vibe harps back to her Paper shoot in 2014, which saw her balance a champagne glass on her famous derriere before then going completely starkers for an un-censored cover – all in the quest of breaking the internet.
It was a worthy cause that indeed did shut everything down – as this fresh shoot, released today, also promises to do.
The cover image of Richardson – founded as a radical independent magazine focused on sex and sexuality – leaves little to the imagination, as the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star sits spread-eagle on a stool, long-black wig flowing, with a white thong her only piece of clothing, as a coverline, A9, covers her nips.
You know, to get it past the censors.
Inside, the profile, written by American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis (were more flummoxed by that, than the nudity) was accompanied by noir-esque shots of Kim, inspired by the film Perfect Blue, a Japanese animated psychological thriller.
One shot, taken by famed photographer Steven Klein, sees the mother-of-three in a bathtub, with her aforementioned famous butt taking centre stage in a completely starkers shot.
Kim has previously hinted she had another nude shoot coming up, after she told the story of finding out President Donald Trump had granted Alice Marie Johnson clemency after being lobbied by the reality star while she was naked.
The finding out, not the lobbying, that is.
I was at a Steven Klein photo shoot. And if anyone knows who he is, its pretty much a nude shoot. So, Im naked, and my phone rings and Im all glammed up . . . I put a robe on [when talking to Trump], Kim said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, saying she then called Alice. So I broke the news to her, and [she] was just crying. And I was at this photo shoot, just trying not to cry my makeup off. It was really emotional.
Andrew Richardson, founder of the mag, said he was worried Kim would back out of the shoot after taking such an important call.
But this woman is a strident professional – and stayed til 11pm to get the job done.
More: Kim Kardashian
It was slightly worrying for a minute, because I thought, Well, this could change everything and it could shut the shoot down, he recalled. It could have changed everything in a not so great way. But, in fact, as a testament to Kim, she was there from 7 A.M. until 11 at night the first day and about the same the second day.
Shes really hard-working and committed and didnt really waver. It didnt really change anything. There was maybe a conversation, but it didnt change her commitment to the project.
