Will Smith is flip-turning his life upside down for the sake of a thrill for his 50th birthday, live streamed on his YouTube channel.
The actor has opted to ring in his big 5-0 by dropping through the air from a helicopter hovering over the Grand Canyon, all while he live streams it with Fresh Prince co-star Alfonso Ribiero.
Were happy with a Colin the Caterpiller cake but whatevs.
Ive had a whole lifetime of feeling squashed and squelched and controlled by fear, he said in a video promoting his big jump in explaining why he chose such a death defying stunt. I hate being scared. I dont want to be scared to do shit.
Fear keeps you from seeing beauty.
Will experienced his first bungee jump when he leapt over the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, where he said he had just towels wrapped around his legs and the harness before being pushed off the platform.
This feat, however, is billed as a leap in the heart of the Grand Canyon, although it supposedly will actually take place over a smaller gorge on the Navajo Nation as Bungee jumps arent actually allowed over the official Grand Canyon.
Kari Cobb told Associated Press that Will didnt approach the park for the bungee jump, although they would have said no if he had as they regularly turn down such stunts to protect the parks image.
Its everything relating to safety, impacts to visitors and impacts to the resources, she said.
Will pulled up to the shindig in a campervan to punish his children, as he was joined by wife Jada, and children Trey, Jaden and Willow.
Come family, he yelled to his family. Its gonna be great!
As he approached the helicopter, he said: Dont try this at home, kids! as experts checked his medical vitals and got him into his harness.
As he went up in the helicopter, not going to lie, he looked rather terrified, while his family looked just as terrified watching, his daughter Willow keeping her head down.
Never look down! he said, before adding: That was just terrible!
However, the drama didnt last too long as he then got a quick countdown and BAM he bungeed out of the helicopter to whoops and cheers from the crowd below.
