Asia Argento has broken her silence over boyfriend Anthony Bourdains death in June as the Italian actress tearfully opened up about the moment she found out her partner had died.
The star had earlier faced criticism shortly after the chefs passing over pictures that showed her getting close with a pal days before he was found dead by suicide.
In a tearful interview, she told the DailyMail TV: People say I murdered him. They say I killed him.
People need to think that he killed himself for something like this? He had cheated on me too. It wasnt a problem for us. He was a man who travelled 265 days a year. When we saw each other we took really great pleasure in each others company. But we are not children. We are grown-ups.
She added: Anthony was 62, I was 42. We had lives, we had wives and husbands, we had children.
I cannot think of Anthony as somebody who would do an extreme gesture like this for something like that.
The pair started a relationship as he filmed his CNN show Parts Unknown in 2016. Before that Asia was married to director Michele Civetta and they have one child together, Nicola Giovanna, born in 2008.
Her first born, 17-year-old Anna Lou Castoldi, is shared with musician Marco Castoldi.
Bourdain, who died died on 8 June, in Kaysersberg, France, is survived by his 11-year-old daughter Ariana, who he had with his ex-wife Ottavia Busia.
Weeks after his death toxicology results showed that the chef had no narcotics in his system when he died – other than a trace amount of a nonnarcotic medicine in a therapeutic dose.
Bourdain had been filming an episode of his CNN show Parts Unkown in the area.
CNN confirmed the chefs death: It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain.
His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.
He was cremated in France six days after his death.
