Love Island star Jess Shears has hit back at people criticising her TV ‘wedding’ to Dom Lever.
Jess and Dom got hitched on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday with a fake ceremony, officiated by showbiz presenter Richard Arnold.
The wedding was branded ‘cringing’ by viewers, who slammed the couple for tying the knot while wearing swimwear.
Now Jess has taken a swipe at her critics, telling them to lighten up.
So many people getting their knickers in a twist this morning about mine and @_DomLever Valentines Wedding on @GMB
We had such a laugh and can’t wait for the REAL wedding now in October #learntotakeajokekids

She tweeted: ‘So many people getting their knickers in a twist this morning about mine and @_DomLever Valentines Wedding on @GMB
‘We had such a laugh and can’t wait for the REAL wedding now in October #learntotakeajokekids’.
Dom added: ‘What a morning #haterswillhate’.
Sadly, the wedding isn’t actually legally binding, so we can expect another huge wedding in due course. And a mag deal. And a special Instagram hashtag.
Out of all of the cast of Love Island 2017, Jess and Dom have been the targets of the most rinsing due to their constant #spon posts and ‘race you to the altar’ approach to romance.
Their Love Island co-stars Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen have admitted they were ‘blown away’ by the stunt.
Gabby told Metro.co.uk at the NME Awards: ‘I was bloody blown away by it. [Jess] must have been freezing.’
She added that it has got her thinking about tying the knot, but Marcel tried to play it cool.
Gabby added: ‘I have my own ideas about my wedding.’
Marcel chipped in: ‘My mate messaged to ask if we were going to do the same.
‘It’s only been 8 months. I gotta keep her waiting to propose.’
