There is no surefire recipe for success when it comes to your Instagram pictures, however, there are a few tips to give your photos the best chance of doing well.
If your snaps are woefully boring and you have eight followers then there is not a lot anyone can do for you, but if you are producing some great content and not getting the likes you deserve, then it is worth considering the time of day you are posting.
Due to the money and interest in social media these days, it is no surprise that a company has gone to great lengths to find out when the best time to post on Instagram is.
The company is Latergramme, who analysed the engagement on over 61,000 posts to shed some light on the matter.
On average over the whole week it turned out that the best times to post on Instagram are 2am and 5pm.
The latter seems obvious as people travel home from work and school having a flick through their feeds, but 2am is slightly more confusing.
The explanation is that much fewer people are posting at that time so anyone online is much more likely to engage with your content.
Also, posts at that time should be there for all to see when they wake up in the morning and open the app.
These averages over the week did vary from day-to-day, though, and it was found that there were different best times to post throughout the week.
Whilst some days were near the weekly average, other days, such as Monday, were wildly different.
Best times to post on Instagram
Monday: 7pm and 10pm
Tuesday: 3am and 10pm
Thursday: 7am and 11pm
Friday: 1am and 8pm
Saturday: 12am and 2am
So if you want to maximise those likes then get Instagramming at these times – although, as mentioned, success is not guaranteed.
These stats are clearly garnered from a wide range of accounts and they might not be entirely relevant to your audience.
It is possible to get information on how your followers engage by switching your Instagram to a business profile which lets you use the app’s social media management analytics tools.
