Ed Sheeran’s loveable track Perfect has yet another reboot, but this time it’s the classical crossover we didn’t know we wanted or needed.
After joining forces with Beyonce for a remix, Ed sang effortlessly with celebrated Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli for his latest interpretation which sees both singers alternate lead vocals throughout the track, with Ed even singing in Italian.
The 26-year-old hinted at the latest version of the song, which was released at midnight, with an Instagram earlier this week – so we can’t say we’re entirely surprised.
Perfect currently sits at No. 1 on the singles charts in the UK, US and Australia after the Shape of You singer reworked the Divide song for his collaboration with Queen Bey.
Could this mean Ed grabs the Christmas Number One spot in the UK with Perfect Symphony? Having a legend like Bocelli, a man with more than 80 million album sales and eight career top 10 titles on the Billboard 200, must be helpful.
Either way, Ed has had an incredible 2017 selling millions of copies of his album Divide, headlining Glastonbury and accepting an MBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
Talk about Royal approval!
He told press at the ceremony that he would happily perform the first song at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
Hmm, we don’t know if Harry would want to be upstaged by a fellow ginger on his own wedding day.
More: Ed Sheeran
Ed said that he hadn’t been asked by Harry to perform at his 19 May wedding, but when asked if he would do it, he replied: ‘Yeah, why not.’
His ex Ellie Goulding sang Elton John’s Your Song at William and Kate’s wedding – so who knows, maybe Ed can sing Perfect in Italian during the next Royal wedding?
