Richard Bacon has joked that hes alive after coming round from a medically induced coma following a bout of double pneumonia.
The former Blue Peter presenter remains in hospital but was tweeting on Monday morning.
“We need to help people to discover the true meaning of love. Love is generally confused with dependence. Those of us who have grown in true love know that we can love only in proportion to our capacity for independence.” — Mister Rogers”. Im learning this, he wrote.
Three Lions hitmaker David Baddiel replied: Very much hope this is actually you tweeting this. In which case: welcome back.
To which the poorly star replied: Ha. I am alive. Or in Lewisham. Or somewhere between the two.
He also shared: “Deep within us—no matter who we are—there lives a feeling of wanting to be lovable, of wanting to be the kind of person that others like to be with. And the greatest thing we can do is to let people know that they are loved and capable of loving.” From The World of Mister Rogers

Bacon was quoting Fred Rogers, who hosted his childrens TV show for over 30 years Mister Rogers Neigborhood.
Last week, his mother Christine told reporters that her son is getting better.
Richard fell ill while he travelled back from the US and was taken to Lewisham A&E.
He was having a lot of oxygen ventilation, a lot more than a normal person would need, through a pipe, as well as lot of antibiotics, she told the Nottingham Post.
They kept him like that for a week and we hadnt left his side, at one point we really felt we might lose him.
Richard told his followers on social media that he had been struck down with the illness, which is usually caused by an infection and impacts the breathing as they fill with fluid.
He wrote on Twitter: Thank God I got ill in Britain (actually on the way to Britain, was taken off the plane in a wheelchair). F**k all the ideology driven politicians whove messed up Americas healthcare system. Viva the NHS. Happy 70th. (sic)
In response to BBC News presenter Rachael Bland asking if he is OK, the former Blue Peter presenter replied: Basically pneumonia. But across two lungs. Ill be here a few days. (sic)
But Richard admitted he was surprised to have been diagnosed with the inflammatory condition of the lung, because he has always associated it with older people.
He tweeted: I looks lve got pneumonia. Although I thought that was for people in their 80s (sic)
This comes just four months after Richard revealed he had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
He recently said: Mental health problems are usually not something you can physically see, so you might assume that ADHD is purely psychological, not something which shows up on a scan.

But the type I have can actually be seen. I have lower blood flow to the front of the brain, the part called the pre-frontal cortex.
If you look at my scan it looks a bit like there is a hole at the front of my brain.
It initially made me think that some of my brain was missing, like I had half a brain – that would explain a lot.
