Serena Williams has spoken about her close friendship with Meghan Markle.
The pair have been pals for years, and Serena told press at Wimbledon on Thursday that they had always had a wonderful friendship.
Every year for a couple years she comes out to Wimbledon, has supported me. Now shes supporting me in a different role. But our friendship is still exactly the same, she said.
We always have supported each other, just been there for each other through a lot.
And speaking about the confirmation from Kensington Palace that Meghan would be cheering Serena on as she plays in the womens finals on Saturday, she said: I look forward to it.
Serena had initially been coy about whether Meghan would be attending the game, but when press confirmed she would be there, she added with a smile: There you go.
It came from the palace that she is coming on Saturday.
In a statement, the Palace said: The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), and the Duchess of Sussex, will attend the Ladies Singles Final at The Championships, Wimbledon, on Saturday 14th July.
Prior to the start of the day, Their Royal Highnesses will meet a number of former Wimbledon Ladies Champions, as well as some of The Championships ball boys and ball girls, to hear more about their experiences of the tournament.
It will mark Meghan and Kates first day out as a pair.
