Gigi Hadid has confirmed her split from Zayn Malik after over two years of dating.
Born 23 April 1995, the 22-year-old is one of the most recognised models in the world.
Gigi was born to real estate developer, Palestinian-American Mohamed Hadid, and former model, dutch-born American Yolanda Hadid.
As well as her younger sister Bella, 21, who often models with Gigi, she has a younger brother called Anwar, 18, who has followed his sisters into the modeling industry.
Gigi also has two half-sisters in Marielle and Alana, from their father’s previous marriage with Mary Butler.
Her mother and father were married from 1994 until they divorced in 2000. Yolanda remarried David Foster in 2011, giving Gigi five stepsisters. Yolanda and David divorced in 2017.
Gigi – whose real name is Jelena Noura Hadid but goes by the nickname Gigi – signed her first modelling contract in 2013 at the age of 18.
Just one year later she featured in the Top 50 Models ranking at Models.com.
She was later named the International Model Of The Year by the British Fashion Council in 2016 – that’s quite a lot of recognition for a model who’s been in the industry for less than five years.
As well as modelling, she has appeared on a number of TV shows, including The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills and RuPaul’s Drag Race – as well as starring in music videos. These have included ex Zayn’s Pillowtalk, DNCE’s Cake By The Ocean, Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood and Cody Simpson’s Surfboard and Flower.

Gigi has even sung on records herself, featuring as a backing singer on The Littler Drummer Boy and I’ll Be Home For Christmas with Josh Groban back in 2007.
Gigi’s net worth is estimated at being $13million (£9.3m), according to The Richest.
Comparatively, former One Direction singer Zayn, 25, is believed to be worth $20m (£14.3).
The model revealed she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease in 2014. Also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, it can lead to an underactive thyroid gland which can create symptoms including the poor ability to tolerate cold, a feeling of tiredness, constipation, depression and weight gain.
Gigi and Zayn both released statements confirming their split on Tuesday.
Gigi posted hers first, writing she would be ‘forever grateful’ for the time they’d spent together.
The Victoria’s Secret model added that she wants ‘nothing but the best for him,’ before adding that she will ‘continue to support him has a friend’.
Gigi, however, did seem to leave a small slither of hope that ‘Zigi’ will get back together, as she ended her statement writing: ‘As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be.’
Zayn echoed these sentiments explaining that he retains ‘a huge amount of respect and adoration’ for his ex.
He added that Gigi has an ‘incredible soul’, before asking for their fans to respect their ‘difficult decision’ and ‘privacy’.
News that the couple were over was first shared by an insider, who put the split down to distance and busy schedules.
It comes not long after Zayn hinted at the break up on Instagram, posting a brooding selfie, while he also unfollowed both Gigi and her mother Yolanda.
