Julia Louis Dreyfus is hilarious, badass and, in her role as Selina Meyer anyway, rather sweary – and that hasn’t change while she’s battling cancer.
The actress gave a cancer a middle finger as she emerged from surgery with ‘great results’.
The 57-year-old, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, took to Twitter to tell her followers that she had undergone surgery.
Sharing a picture where she had a full face of make-up on and a wind machine blowing her perfectly styled hair, Julia joked it was her first ‘post-op photo’.
Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery. Hey cancer, “Fuck you!” Here’s my first post op photo. pic.twitter.com/5LPlbzpiI3

The Veep actress tweeted: ‘Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery. Hey cancer, “Fuck you!” Here’s my first post op photo.’
Fans and friends rushed to share their well wishes, including actor Ed Asner who wrote: ‘Keep it up. We need you here.’
And Julia’s Seinfeld co-star Jason Alexander replied: ‘Congrats Jules! What a great Valentine message. Continued health and so much happiness.’
Back in September, Julia confirmed in a tweet that she was battling breast cancer, writing: ‘1 in 8 women get breast cancer, today I’m the one.
‘The good news is I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.’
Veep’s seventh series has been postponed while Julia gets treatment.
